The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Figure Wish List

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been out on Blu-ray for a little over a month now and if you are anything like myself, you have undoubtedly watched it more than once already. After seeing it for what seemed like the 1000th time, it got me thinking about some ideas for figures The Bridge Direct could make in future waves. I came up with figures that would mostly be for the 3 inch line, but some work for the 6 inch line as well. So without further ado, here is a list I came up with:

The "Gonna happen" Category

Smaug
There has already been indication from The Bridge Direct that there will be a Smaug figure (and soon). What is unknown is the size of the figure. It will definitely be for the 3 inch line only and even then will most likely have to be smaller than scale size. Chances are though, it will become one of the most sought after figures.

Thror
Thror is Thorin's grandfather and king of Erebor. He is killed by Azog and this leads to Thorin taking the first step to becoming a great king and warrior. He could be made in both the 3 and 6 inch scale and the Arkenstone is a must as an accessory.

Saruman
Saruman is not anywhere near as important in the Hobbit story as he is in the Lord of the Rings story, but most fans would love to see him in the smaller scale.

Galadriel
Galadriel is shown during a White Council meeting talking telepathically with Gandalf and approves of Gandalf helping Thorin in his quest.

Elrond
Elrond appears when he and his army unknowingly attack the warg pack chasing Thorin's Company, as they make their way to Rivendale. He then aids them in reading the map left by Thrain for Thorin. He would make a nice 3 and 6 inch figure, while also being a candidate to be the first figure with a horse in the 3 inch line.

Frodo
Even though he does not appear in the Hobbit book, he does make a cameo in the movie with a scene that transitions well with scenes used in The Lord of the Rings. This will be the perfect excuse to get him in the 3 inch scale and depending on the life of the figure line, a Bridge Direct 6 inch figure would be nice as well.

Radagast with Rustabell Rabbit Sled
Radagast has already been shown in the 3 and 6 inch scale but one thing that many fans are hoping to get is a figure with his amazing Rustabell Rabbit sled. Good luck trying to get your hands on one though, not even wargs can catch them.

Thranduil with Elk Mount
Thranduil was just recently confirmed in a press release by the Bridge Direct, but it would be a great injustice if at no point we get the elk he is shown riding at the beginning of the movie.

Tom, Bert and William Huggins
Some would argue that "Bilbo's trolls" would be just as good if only one was released, but a deluxe three pack would be one of the best things that could happen to the 3 inch line. Each was so unique, that making them sound equipped with phrases from the movie would be all the better.

Eagles
The Eagles have played a big part in protecting middle earth and were sadly ignored by Toy Biz. Lets hope The Bridge Direct finally gives them some love, at least in the 3 inch line.

The "If there's time" Category

Thrain
Thrain's biggest contribution was making sure Thorin received the map that showed the secret entrance to the Lonely Mountain. Even so, it would be nice to have all three generations of the great dwarf kings.

Prologue Bilbo
Toy Biz produced a Bilbo from his 111th birthday party, but it would be nice to get the same character in the smaller scale. Hopefully they include as many accessories as Toy Biz did, such as Sting, smoke pipe, his book or even the drawing of young Bilbo.

Bilbo Baggins of Bag End
Before Bilbo went on to be the hero we all love, he was afraid of adventure and more interested in his doilies and mother's dishes. A figure that includes this and maybe the contract he had to sign to join Thorin's company would be a good addition to the line.

Prologue Thorin
Toy Biz was famous for its variances of the main characters, so maybe The Bridge Direct can join in on the fun and produce Thorin as he is shown in the prologue, with his more formal cloths.

Thranduil's Soldiers
It is always nice to have some army builders and some elven army troops will look great on shelves everywhere.

Dale Guards
Although Dale's guards are no match for the dragon Smaug in the film, they still deserve a figure that shows off the great detail in their armor.

Elrond's Riders
A nice counterpart to the orc and warg rider set we were given by The Bridge Direct, would be an army builder horse and rider set. I can't thing of a better route to go than that of Elrond's riders.

Dwarf Erebor Guards
There was always a shortage of dwarves in the Toy Biz figure line, so any excuse to make up for that is OK by me, especially if they have armor like these guards.

Dwarf Workers
A nod to the unspoken heroes of Middle Earth would be a welcomed surprise. Especially if they make the wall miners similar to the original Toy Biz Sam with a retractable rope.

Dwarf Women
No dwarves don't just spring out of holes in the ground and yes there are dwarf women, so it might be time we see them in miniature plastic form.

Moria Orcs
Azog's army is one of the fiercest in Middle Earth and the more we get of them, the better.

Misty Mountain Goblins
These evil creatures obvious strength was in numbers, so it would only make sense that we would get many different forms, including archers, swordsmen and spearmen.

Spirit of the Witch King
The Witch King of Angmar is brought back to life in spirit form by the Necromancer and is shown attacking Radagast before being briefly defeated and dropping his dagger. He would make a nice "twilight" figure, which Toy Biz has shown before.

The "Not gonna happen (or will it)" Category

Necromancer
As many know, the Necromancer of Dol Guldur is the greatest evil in all of Middle Earth, Sauron. He obviously is a bigger part of The Lord of the Rings story, but he is briefly shown in The Unexpected Journey in shadow form. It would be hard to make a figure of what we have seen of him though, considering he is nothing but an outline.

Stone Giants
The Stone Giants definitely had Peter Jackson flexing his computerized muscles, so it would be a shame to not see them in figure form. These would be more on the unlikely to ever happen side, but its fun to dream.

Sebastian the Hedgehog
How can we live with ourselves if we leave Radagast without his best friend. He did all he could to keep Sebastian alive, maybe in hopes that he would get his own action figure one day.

Messenger Goblin
The messenger goblin is told by the Goblin King to go alert Azog that "he has his prize", referring to Thorin. The messenger then rides his way through the mountain on a rope chairlift. If one day we get an action figure for him, it would not only be a great day, it would probably mean we had every character that appeared in the movie.
