Amazon Selling 3 3/4 Inch Invisible Bilbo Baggins

Amazon UK is selling the UK / Australia exclusive 3 3/4 Invisible Bilbo Baggins and it looks like even if you live in the US, you can get your hands on one. The figure is also currently, as of this posting, on sale for £2.54 (a little over 4 dollars) and even with the faster shipping to the US it still comes out to less than 12 dollars (free shipping in UK). That's not bad considering the cheapest you can get it on eBay is double that.

The figure will probably be a hard to find figure in the US, so this is a good opportunity for anyone that doesn't have one yet. The link is below.

Figure Glance: Mordor Orc Lieutenant

This is the first of many look backs at the great line of Lord of the Rings figures produced by Toy Biz. Expect these Figure Glances every once in a while from here on out, in no particular order. The Mordor Orc Lieutenant is a good starting point, as it is not only one of my personal favorites, but also one of the rarer ones out there. The Lieutenant was released in the later stages of the line (Trilogy, Wave 2) and like most of the figures released as the line ended, it became harder to find.

Recognized for the skull on top of its head and the long sword it wields, it is easily one of the most articulated figures Toy Biz made.

The Mordor Orc Lieutenant is only briefly shown in The Return of the King as the right hand man of Gothmog, the orc second in command to the Witch-King. In the script he is given the name Guritz, but for an unknown reason, the name is not on his card. He suffers a death blow at the blade of Gimli's axe, in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.

"Summer" for Wave 2 of Hobbit Figures

The Bridge Direct has posted on their facebook page to expect wave 2 of The Hobbit line of figures to come out "this coming summer". A couple of fans commented on a post of them advertising their figures, asking when wave 2 would come out and if we would see a Lord of the Rings line from them as well. A rep for the company posted this reply:

"Thanks for all the support! We are super excited about this line and look forward to bringing more great products to the fans. Our focus for now is on The Hobbit trilogy but stay tuned for updates. Look for Wave 2 Hobbit toys to hit shelves this coming summer!"

New 6 Inch 4 Pack Listed in UK

Earlier I posted about the new 3 pack of 3 3/4 inch figures that appeared on UK's Toys R Us website, well it looks like the 6 inch line wasn't forgotten, as a 4 pack of them has been listed as well. Thorin, Legolas, Bilbo and Tauriel have been bundled together, but it is unclear if there is any difference between them and their single card counterparts. A picture of the packaging is not currently on the page, just a standard stock photo. This may be one of those UK exclusives we seem to be seeing a lot of lately.

New 3 Pack Appears on UK's Toys R Us Website

A new 3 pack of the 3 3/4 inch figures has appeared on Toys R Us' UK website. The package includes Tauriel, the single pack version of Gandalf the Grey and Balin, which was previously only seen in the 2 pack with Dwalin. You can add this to the list of unsure when or if, this will make its way to the US.

Yazneg and 3 3/4 inch Invisible Bilbo EXCLUSIVE for now

Customer service for the Bridge Direct is confirming that Yazneg and 3 3/4 Invisible Bilbo Baggins are exclusive to the UK and Australia for the time being. While stating this in emails sent to them asking about the figures, they are also adding that they may become available in the US sometime in the "future".

Yazneg has been spotted by forum users on the internet in the UK, and is available on the UK's Toys R Us website. He is also now appearing in eBay auctions for US collectors looking to snatch up the 6 inch figure.

3 3/4 inch Invisible Bilbo Baggins has been seen in Australia and is appearing in eBay auctions from UK sellers as well. US collectors may be better off waiting until these figures become more available in those countries before purchasing them off eBay, while they are still rare.

3 3/4 Invisible Bilbo Baggins seen in Australia

A new figure was spotted in the wild by a forum poster on the Sideshow Freaks message board. Hardyakka_Mate snapped pictures of the 3 3/4 Invisible Bilbo, which he purchased at a Toys R Us in Australia, and it seems to be the smaller version of the SDCC exclusive 6 inch Invisible Bilbo.

Much like Yazneg,  it is not listed on The Bridge Direct's website and it is unknown if this will be available in the US or if it is an Australian exclusive.

Gandalf the Grey - 3 3/4 Inch Figure - 2 Versions

Gandalf the Grey is offered in 2 different versions, the single pack and the 2-pack. The 2-pack version comes included with the enemy Bolg, so it would make sense that this would be the "roughed up" version. This version comes with a dirty face and robes, along with a more worn down feel on its scarf. The single pack version has a cleaner look and also has a silver lined sheath.

Each Gandalf comes with his usual sword and staff, along with his iconic pointy hat.

UK Exclusive Yazneg

I mentioned earlier that I was currently missing a figure, Yazneg. The 6 inch Yazneg is the only figure that is currently known to be a UK exclusive, and since it is still early in launch of the figures, it is rare. There are little known details of the figure but there are plenty of rumors flying around, including that it replaced the MIA figure Azog. This rumor is a result of the actor that was slated to play Azog, switched roles to Yazneg, with no word if Azog was recast. There is also still no word on when or if the figure will be brought to the USA.

If you live in the UK, The figure is currently available on the UK's Toys R Us website, but it is not listed on The Bridge Direct's website.

The Start of My Hobbit Figure Collection

Here is a quick preview of the beginning of my Hobbit collection by The Bridge Direct. I will start getting more single pictures of these and the Lord of the Rings ones by Toy Biz, once time allows.

As you can see, I have chosen to keep the 6 inch ones in their "plastic prison" and MOC but the smaller ones will be collected as loose.

The Bridge Direct Reveals Upcoming Hobbit Figures

The first few 6 inch scale action figures for The Hobbit made by The Bridge Direct have been revealed.

The first figure shown is an exclusive to SDCC 12' Bilbo Baggins. The figure is similar to the old Toy Biz "Twilight" figures, which shows the character "invisible" due to wearing the ring.

Bilbo Baggins:

Next, The Bridge Direct revealed 3 figures that will be standard releases to the public.

Bilbo Baggins:

This Bilbo Baggins figure seems to be the same as the SDCC exclusive figure without the twilight feature to it.

Thorin:

Gandalf the Grey:

I'll save my final judgement for when i have these figures in hand, but so far they are better than I expected from a fairly unknown company.

Preview of My Collection

So over the next couple of weeks leading up to the release of The Hobbit movie and the line of action figures that will come with it, I will giving you some good looks at my loose collection of Toy Biz Lord of the Rings action figures of years past. Reviews, pictures, maybe some videos, hopefully I'll get to all that and more.

As a little teaser, here are some pictures of my collection. Its not 100% complete but I'll try and get it there as quick as I can before the new line of figures comes out.

EDIT: I edited this post with better pictures.
