Back at it!

I had some family issues unexpectedly come up (as opposed to the expected type?), and I was unable to do anything with this blog. My time and money were better spent elsewhere, but I am glad that part of my life is past me and its time to get back to the hobby I love.

I know I missed a writing about info that was revealed in the past few months, such as Azog being the San Diego Comic Con exclusive for this year:

Still no word if there will be some form of Azog still available at stores, maybe with fewer accessories or if this will the only sighting of Azog we get this wave.

We also got a look at Thranduil in the 3 inch line at The Bridge Direct's booth at SDCC (Sadly no elk mount was shown!), along with a first look at the new packaging style for the next Hobbit movie coming out in December, "The Desolation of Smaug".

The new packaging was shown on a Legolas figure that will be releasing in this new wave, but it seems to be the same Legolas that was released in wave 1. 

Hopefully I can get some readers back here once I start posting a bit, so stay tuned for the fun!

P.S. I also put together a very quickly done video of my updated collection. It's not the best, but it will do until I can get some work done on the blog.

The Bridge Direct Announces The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Lineup

The Bridge Direct has revealed their figure lineup for the next movie in a press release. The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug figures will be hitting store shelves on October 15th, a few months before the movie's release in December. The reveal did include surprises and left some questions that will have to be answered. Previously, expectations called for a summer to fall release of a second wave for the first movie, with the first wave for movie two hitting after. There is no word when or if that second wave for the first movie will be coming, but some of the figures that were expected to be part of that wave have been announced here for the second movie.

Also in the reveal was the figure for the Elvenking himself, Thranduil, and the shape-shifter Beorn. Although no pictures of either were shown. We also received confirmation of the already rumored San Diego Comic Con exclusive figure for this years event. Here is the press release from The Bridge Direct:

3 3/4 Invisible Bilbo Baggins seen in Australia

A new figure was spotted in the wild by a forum poster on the Sideshow Freaks message board. Hardyakka_Mate snapped pictures of the 3 3/4 Invisible Bilbo, which he purchased at a Toys R Us in Australia, and it seems to be the smaller version of the SDCC exclusive 6 inch Invisible Bilbo.

Much like Yazneg,  it is not listed on The Bridge Direct's website and it is unknown if this will be available in the US or if it is an Australian exclusive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Bridge Direct Reveals Upcoming Hobbit Figures

The first few 6 inch scale action figures for The Hobbit made by The Bridge Direct have been revealed.

The first figure shown is an exclusive to SDCC 12' Bilbo Baggins. The figure is similar to the old Toy Biz "Twilight" figures, which shows the character "invisible" due to wearing the ring.

Next, The Bridge Direct revealed 3 figures that will be standard releases to the public.

Bilbo Baggins:

This Bilbo Baggins figure seems to be the same as the SDCC exclusive figure without the twilight feature to it.

Thorin:

Gandalf the Grey:

I'll save my final judgement for when i have these figures in hand, but so far they are better than I expected from a fairly unknown company.
